Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute project work plans that align with UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals and Eswatini’s national development strategies.
• Coordinate multi‑stakeholder partnerships, including ministries, NGOs, private sector firms, and community groups, to ensure collaborative project delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance using results‑based management tools, preparing regular progress reports for donors and senior management.
• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops and training sessions for local partners on climate‑smart agriculture, renewable energy technologies, and sustainable livelihoods.
• Prepare high‑quality proposals and funding applications to secure additional resources from international donors and development banks.
• Conduct field visits to assess project implementation, identify challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
• Represent UNDP at national forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote Eswatini’s sustainable development agenda.

Required Skills

• Strong project management expertise with a proven track record in international development.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing abilities, with proficiency in results‑based management.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of climate change mitigation, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture practices.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in SiSwati is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and travel frequently across Eswatini.

Education

The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Development Studies, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or a closely related discipline. Advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or climate finance are highly desirable.

Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience managing development programs, preferably within the United Nations system or other multilateral development agencies, is required. Experience in Eswatini or Southern Africa, particularly in climate‑related initiatives, will be considered a strong asset.

Salary
