Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement community-driven rural development programs focused on education, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
  • Conduct needs assessments and baseline surveys to identify priority areas for intervention.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for community leaders on project management and advocacy.
  • Monitor and evaluate program impact using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Build partnerships with local stakeholders, including traditional leaders and civil society organizations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for donors, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in rural development or community empowerment initiatives.
  • Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze socio-economic data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Proficiency in grant writing and donor reporting.
  • Fluency in English and Swati; additional regional languages are an asset.
  • Experience working in Eswatini’s rural development context is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, International Relations, or related field. A Master’s degree is a strong advantage.

Experience

3-5 years of professional experience in community development, with at least 2 years in program design and implementation. Experience in Eswatini or neighboring Southern African countries is highly desirable.

Salary

12,000 – 18,000 Swazi Lilangeni (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience.
