Job Overview

The Sustainability Reporting Analyst will play a pivotal role in collecting, analyzing, and presenting sustainability data that supports Unilever’s corporate reporting obligations and strategic objectives. This position is responsible for preparing internal and external reports, ensuring compliance with global standards such as GRI, SASB, and CDP, and translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. As part of the Sustainability & Reporting team, the analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional partners, including supply chain, finance, marketing, and R&D, to embed sustainability metrics throughout business processes. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, verify, and consolidate sustainability data from multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare quarterly and annual sustainability reports in line with GRI, SASB, and CDP requirements.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations that communicate key performance indicators to internal stakeholders.
• Support the creation of Unilever’s ESG disclosures for investors, regulators, and the public.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to track carbon emissions, water usage, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Conduct gap analyses and recommend improvements to data collection processes.
• Assist in the development of sustainability targets and monitor progress against them.
• Provide training and guidance to business units on reporting standards and data quality.
• Stay updated on emerging sustainability regulations and best practices relevant to the consumer goods sector.
• Contribute to internal sustainability workshops and external stakeholder engagements.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of global sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, CDP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting.

Education

The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as GRI Certified Training Program or a master’s degree in a relevant field are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

A minimum of three to five years of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG analysis, or related roles within a multinational corporation is required. Prior exposure to the consumer goods sector or experience working in emerging markets, particularly in Eswatini or Southern Africa, will be considered a strong asset.

Salary
