Job Overview

The Mining Safety Supervisor will lead the safety program at the Mhlume Gold Mine, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international best practices, and AngloGold Ashanti’s internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the mine’s safety management system.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and competency assessments for all personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with Eswatini labour laws, Mine Health and Safety Act, and international standards such as ISO 45001.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and key performance indicators.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, communication, and recognition programs.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in mining safety, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role. Experience in underground or open‑pit gold mining environments is preferred.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
