Job Overview

The E-commerce Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operational workflow of Jumia’s Manzini hub, ensuring that order fulfillment, inventory management, last‑mile delivery, and customer service operate at peak efficiency. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including technology, marketing, finance, and supply chain, to drive continuous improvement, optimize processes, and support the rapid scaling of Jumia’s platform in Eswatini. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Manzini fulfillment center, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Develop and implement SOPs to improve order accuracy, reduce processing time, and enhance warehouse safety.
  • Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers, negotiate service level agreements, and monitor delivery performance.
  • Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Lead a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and customer service agents, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to integrate automation tools, warehouse management systems, and data analytics platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and Jumia’s corporate policies.
  • Prepare regular operational reports for senior leadership, highlighting key metrics such as order cycle time, fulfillment cost per order, and customer satisfaction scores.

Required Skills

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in e‑commerce operations, retail logistics, or warehouse management, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in emerging markets or within the Southern African region is highly valued.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 250,000 – 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
