Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Heineken’s quality assurance function at the Matata brewery, ensuring that all products meet stringent safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of non‑conformities and continuous improvement.
• Oversee product testing, microbiological analysis, and sensory evaluation to guarantee product safety and consistency.
• Collaborate with Production and R&D to design and validate new processes, formulations, and packaging solutions.
• Manage a team of quality technicians, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Analyze quality data, generate reports, and present findings to senior leadership to drive data‑driven decisions.
• Ensure proper documentation, record‑keeping, and traceability throughout the supply chain.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities for product registrations, inspections, and compliance submissions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS) and root‑cause analysis methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to interpret and apply local and international food regulations.
• Experience with continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and product integrity.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, HACCP‑Certified) are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to excellence.

Experience

Minimum of five years in quality assurance within the food and beverage industry, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in a brewery or beverage manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

Salary
