Job Overview

The Agricultural Drone Operations Manager will lead the planning, execution, and analysis of drone‑based surveys for Bayer’s precision agriculture programs in Eswatini. Reporting to the Regional Agronomy Director, you will oversee a fleet of UAVs, coordinate with agronomists, and deliver actionable insights to farmers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute weekly drone flight missions covering key agricultural zones in Matsapha and surrounding districts.
  • Manage a fleet of fixed‑wing and rotary UAVs, ensuring maintenance, calibration, and compliance with Eswatini civil aviation regulations.
  • Process raw imagery using photogrammetry and AI‑driven analytics to generate NDVI maps, canopy height models, and pest detection reports.
  • Collaborate with agronomists to translate drone data into field‑level recommendations for fertilizer, irrigation, and pest management.
  • Train and mentor a team of drone pilots, data analysts, and field technicians, fostering a culture of safety and innovation.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for flight planning, data acquisition, and post‑processing to ensure consistency and quality.

Required Skills
