Job Overview
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex structural projects for Aveng Eswatini. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants to ensure that all structures meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for commercial, industrial, and public infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications in compliance with local codes and international standards.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate structural solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Mentor junior engineers and oversee their technical deliverables.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments related to structural works.
- Ensure all designs incorporate sustainability and resilience principles.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocode, British Standards, and Eswatini building regulations.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is mandatory. A Master’s degree or professional registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects from concept through construction. Experience in the Southern African construction market is preferred.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based incentives and annual bonuses are also part of the remuneration package.
