Job Overview

The Senior Laboratory Technician will play a critical role in ensuring that every product leaving our Matsapha facility meets the stringent quality and safety standards required by both local and international regulations. This role involves conducting complex chemical and microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and microbiological testing on beverage formulations and packaging materials.
  • Monitor production parameters to ensure compliance with food safety standards and internal quality protocols.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure accuracy and precision in all tests.
  • Document and report all analytical results clearly and accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Investigate deviations in quality and suggest corrective actions to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensure the laboratory adheres to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques such as HPLC, GC, and titration.
  • Strong understanding of food safety management systems (ISO 22000, HACCP).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data recording.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Education

A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in laboratory management or quality auditing is highly advantageous.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience working in a high-volume food or beverage laboratory environment. Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is essential to understand the pace and requirements of industrial production.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 18,000 SSP to 25,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise.
