Key Responsibilities
- Oversee port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo loading/unloading, and equipment management.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
- Collaborate with customs authorities, shipping lines, and logistics partners to optimize throughput.
- Monitor performance metrics and develop strategies to reduce operational costs.
- Lead a team of port staff and subcontractors to maintain high service standards.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in port operations or logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and port safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Swati is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in port operations, logistics management, or maritime services.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects in Africa.
Salary
12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
