The Marine Logistics Coordinator will manage the coordination of maritime cargo shipments, inland freight movements, and customs documentation for clients operating in and through Eswatini. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of maritime and inland freight shipments for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare and verify all required shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and cargo manifests.
  • Monitor cargo status in real time using Maersk’s digital platforms and provide proactive updates to customers.
  • Liaise with port authorities, customs officials, trucking companies, and rail operators to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  • Identify and resolve any disruptions, delays, or compliance issues that may affect cargo movement.
  • Analyze logistics data to recommend process improvements, cost reductions, and service enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and performance metrics in accordance with company standards.
  • Support the development of client proposals, rate quotations, and service contracts.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to implement sustainability initiatives and digital transformation projects.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of maritime shipping, inland transport modes, and customs regulations in Southern Africa.
  • Proficiency with logistics management software and Maersk’s proprietary digital tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Problem‑solving orientation and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in SiSwati is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) or similar are considered a plus.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in maritime logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination, preferably within a multinational logistics provider or a major shipping line.

Salary
