Job Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end management of DHL’s freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution activities at the Mbabane hub. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and delivering superior service levels to our customers. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including customs, transportation, sales, and IT, to implement process improvements and technology solutions that drive cost savings and enhance visibility across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, freight handling, and outbound/inbound logistics to meet service level agreements.
  • Develop and implement SOPs that improve throughput, reduce errors, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost per shipment, and generate actionable reports.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities to ensure timely clearance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Manage relationships with third‑party carriers, vendors, and key customers to resolve issues and negotiate service contracts.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical ability to interpret data and make evidence‑based decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and people‑management skills with a focus on team empowerment.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In‑depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and hazardous material handling.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in logistics operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role within a multinational logistics provider or similar environment.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
