Job Overview

The Legal Counsel will join EY’s Legal & Compliance department in Malkerns, providing comprehensive legal support to internal stakeholders and external clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service contracts, partnership agreements and confidentiality clauses.
  • Provide proactive legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, data protection and employment law.
  • Conduct legal research and stay abreast of legislative changes affecting EY’s operations in Eswatini and the Southern African market.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including mediation, arbitration and litigation coordination with external counsel.
  • Collaborate with audit, tax and consulting teams to identify legal risks in client engagements and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, briefing notes and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to promote legal awareness across the organisation.

Experience

Applicants should possess 3‑5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within a professional services firm, multinational corporation or reputable law practice. Experience handling cross‑border transactions and exposure to regional regulatory frameworks will be considered an asset.
