The Industrial Robotics Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of advanced robotic systems used in Caterpillar’s manufacturing lines in Matsatsi. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance on industrial robots and associated equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software faults, and execute timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with automation engineers to program, test, and commission new robotic cells.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service records, and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical support and training to production operators on safe robot operation.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and reliability improvements.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, ISO 45001, and Caterpillar’s internal safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of robotic hardware, PLCs, and motion control systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
- Experience with robot programming languages such as RAPID, KRL, or FANUC.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.

Education
