Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Researcher to lead our user experience initiatives in the Southern African region. This role is critical in ensuring that our digital products are intuitive, accessible, and highly functional for a diverse user base. You will be responsible for conducting deep-dive qualitative and quantitative research to uncover user needs, pain points, and behaviors. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end user research studies, including usability testing, longitudinal studies, and ethnographic research.
- Synthesize complex research findings into clear, actionable insights for product managers and designers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user-centric methodologies into the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and implement research frameworks that ensure accessibility and inclusivity across all digital touchpoints.
- Mentor junior researchers and advocate for a research-driven culture within the organization.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in qualitative research methods such as contextual inquiry and semi-structured interviewing.
- Strong statistical knowledge for quantitative analysis using tools like SPSS or R.
- Exceptional communication skills to present findings to executive-level stakeholders.
- Expertise in prototyping tools and understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- Ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field is required. A strong academic background in research methodology is essential for success in this role.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UX research, preferably within a large-scale software or digital services company. Proven experience in managing complex research projects from conception to completion is mandatory.
