Job Overview

The Solar Project Engineer will lead the technical design, planning, and execution of utility‑scale solar installations in Eswatini. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs, layout plans, and electrical schematics for solar farms ranging from 5 MW to 50 MW.
• Conduct site assessments, including topographical surveys, soil analysis, and grid interconnection studies.
• Coordinate with local utilities to secure grid connection agreements and ensure compliance with national standards.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and evaluate vendor proposals.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, managing schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Oversee construction activities, perform on‑site inspections, and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Implement performance monitoring systems and conduct post‑commissioning analysis to optimize energy output.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting for stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in PV system design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, or SAM.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, grid integration, and renewable energy regulations in Southern Africa.
• Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
• Analytical problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and quality assurance.
• Effective teamwork and leadership capabilities, able to guide contractors and junior engineers.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of SiSwati is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as PMP, PE, or specialized solar design credentials are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Candidates must possess at least three to five years of hands‑on experience in the design, development, or construction of solar photovoltaic projects. Salary
