Job Overview
The Senior Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s core network architecture. This position requires a deep understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize performance across a distributed environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable network solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.
- Lead network upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent networking equipment.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies.
- Experience with network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to problem resolution.
- Effective communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
