Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team in Lobamba. This role is critical to the successful delivery of large-scale urban and rural development projects across the region. The successful candidate will lead complex design processes, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that all engineering solutions are sustainable, cost-effective, and compliant with international standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical management of complex civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges, and water management systems.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis and hydraulic modeling to ensure project integrity and safety.
- Coordinate with architects, urban planners, and environmental specialists to integrate multi-disciplinary requirements.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance checks on all engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians within the team.
- Liaise with government authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and SAP2000.
- Deep understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and soil mechanics.
- Exceptional project management skills with a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of international building codes and Eswatini construction standards.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
Education
A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering from a recognized international university is mandatory. Professional registration with a relevant engineering board is highly preferred. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering will be given preference.
Experience
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management is required. Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion is essential. Experience working within the Southern African development context is a significant advantage.
Salary
The offered salary for this position is between 450,000 SSP and 680,000 SSP per annum, depending on the candidate’s expertise and qualifications. This package is competitive and reflects the seniority of the role.
