Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for infrastructure, agricultural, and industrial projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining potential ecological risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the long-term effects of approved projects on ecosystems.
  • Provide training and guidance to local communities on sustainable land-use practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of Eswatini’s environmental policies and international conservation standards.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in remote field locations and adapt to diverse environmental conditions.
  • Fluency in English and Swati.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree is a distinct advantage.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, preferably in Southern Africa. Experience working with conservation NGOs is preferred.

Salary

SSP 12,000 – 15,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
