Job Overview

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies and programs at our Matsats facility. This role ensures compliance with local regulations, international standards, and Shell’s internal EHS framework. The manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed a safety‑first mindset, reduce environmental impact, and promote a culture of proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and reporting to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide EHS training and awareness programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor and report EHS performance metrics to senior leadership and external regulators.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Manage waste handling, emissions monitoring, and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Eswatini environmental legislation, labor laws, and Shell’s global EHS policies.

  • Strong knowledge of local and international EHS regulations and standards.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in EHS roles, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a manufacturing, energy, or industrial setting.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 250,000 – 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
