Job Overview
The Cybersecurity Operations Engineer will join Accenture’s Security Operations Center (SOC) in Mbabane, providing real‑time monitoring, detection, and response to cyber threats across client environments. The role involves analyzing security alerts, conducting investigations, and implementing mitigation strategies to protect critical assets. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) platforms for alerts and anomalies.
- Investigate and triage security incidents, documenting findings and remediation steps.
- Develop and fine‑tune detection rules, playbooks, and response procedures.
- Collaborate with network, application and infrastructure teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Conduct threat hunting activities using open‑source intelligence and internal data.
- Prepare regular reports on incident trends, metrics and compliance status.
- Participate in on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 incident response coverage.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS and endpoint protection.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar or ArcSight.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Knowledge of common attack vectors, MITRE ATT&CK framework and incident response methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for reporting to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the cybersecurity field.
Experience
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in security operations, incident response, or related roles. Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, preferably within a multinational organization, will be considered an advantage. Prior exposure to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001 or local data protection laws will support effective compliance work.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, reflecting the candidate’s experience, qualifications and the strategic importance of the role. Salary is complemented by performance‑based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits suite.
