Job Overview

This role is ideal for a passionate professional with expertise in cultural documentation, archival management, and heritage research. The Cultural Heritage Documentation Specialist will lead initiatives to digitize historical records, conduct field surveys, and produce educational content to enhance public engagement with Eswatini’s heritage. The position also involves coordinating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with international heritage standards and contributing to policy development for sustainable cultural preservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field research and documentation of cultural sites, artifacts, and oral histories.
  • Develop and maintain digital archives for heritage materials using GIS and archival software.
  • Collaborate with local communities to identify and protect culturally significant sites.
  • Prepare reports, publications, and educational resources for public and academic audiences.
  • Advocate for heritage conservation through presentations, workshops, and policy recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in cultural mapping, archival systems, and digital documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills for producing research-based content.
