Job Overview

The Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all safety protocols on Basil Read’s construction sites in and around Mhlume. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor site‑specific safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and hazard identification tours.

• Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
• Ensure compliance with Eswatini occupational health and safety legislation and international standards such as ISO 45001.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into project schedules.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including permits, logs, and training records.
• Promote a safety‑first culture among all site personnel, encouraging reporting and continuous improvement.
