Job Overview
The Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all safety protocols on Basil Read’s construction sites in and around Mhlume. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor site‑specific safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and hazard identification tours.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and emergency response drills.
- Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with Eswatini occupational health and safety legislation and international standards such as ISO 45001.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into project schedules.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including permits, logs, and training records.
- Promote a safety‑first culture among all site personnel, encouraging reporting and continuous improvement.

Education

Experience
Applicants must have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in construction safety, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects. Experience working in Eswatini or similar regulatory environments will be considered an advantage.
Salary
