Job Overview
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will lead SAP’s Data & Analytics division in Eswatini, defining and executing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with corporate objectives and local market needs. The CDO will be responsible for data governance, data quality, analytics platforms, and the creation of a data‑centric culture across the organization. This senior position reports directly to the Regional Managing Director and works closely with business leaders to ensure data initiatives drive measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a holistic data strategy that supports SAP’s growth objectives in Eswatini.
- Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and real‑time analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify high‑impact analytics use cases and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Drive a data‑driven culture by promoting data literacy, training, and best practices throughout the organization.
- Oversee data quality initiatives, data cataloging, and metadata management.
- Monitor emerging data technologies and recommend innovative approaches to maintain competitive advantage.
- Represent SAP in industry forums, conferences, and government advisory panels on data strategy and digital transformation.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership in data strategy, governance, and analytics at an enterprise level.
- Deep expertise in cloud data platforms (e.g., SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations, including GDPR and local Eswatini data protection laws.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on technical proficiency.
Education
The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or analytics are highly desirable.
Experience
At least ten years of progressive experience in data leadership roles, with a track record of delivering large‑scale data initiatives that generate measurable business outcomes. Experience within the SAP ecosystem or similar enterprise software environments is a strong advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health benefits, and retirement contributions.
