Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join our technical team in Matsapha. This role is critical to our long-term asset management and production optimization strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex reservoir simulations to predict future production profiles and optimize well placement.
- Conduct detailed uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for upcoming drilling campaigns.
- Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data into comprehensive development plans.
- Monitor real-time production data to identify deviations from predicted reservoir behavior.
- Develop and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) strategies to maximize resource extraction.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management regarding asset performance and development milestones.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse or Petrel.
- Deep understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and rock mechanics.
- Strong mathematical modeling and statistical analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
- Ability to interpret complex seismic and well log data.
Education
A minimum of a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level technical position.
Experience
Candidates must possess between 7 to 10 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector. Proven track record in managing large-scale reservoir models and contributing to multi-million dollar development projects is essential. Experience in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs is a significant advantage.
Salary
