Job Overview
This role focuses on designing and implementing next-generation agricultural systems that integrate IoT-enabled machinery, data analytics, and sustainable resource management. The position is based in Hhohho, a key agricultural hub in Eswatini, and offers opportunities to collaborate with local farmers, research institutions, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize agricultural machinery systems for Eswatini’s climate and soil conditions
- Develop IoT-based solutions for crop monitoring and resource efficiency
- Conduct field trials and analyze performance data for system improvements
- Train local farmers on advanced agricultural technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on R&D projects
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software and agricultural systems modeling
- Experience with IoT and automation technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Eswatini’s agricultural regulations and practices
- Fluency in English and basic Swati language skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years in agricultural technology development
- Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa preferred
Salary
8,000 – 12,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
