Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee complex microbiological testing of raw materials, water, and finished beverage products.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous food safety management systems (FSMS) in compliance with international standards.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring within the production facility to identify and mitigate potential microbial risks.
  • Manage and interpret laboratory data to provide actionable insights to the production and quality assurance teams.
  • Supervise junior laboratory technicians and ensure all testing protocols are strictly followed.
  • Oversee the calibration and maintenance of sensitive laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports for regulatory bodies and internal management.

Required Skills

  • Advanced expertise in aseptic techniques and microbial identification methods.
  • Deep understanding of HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a manufacturing context.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reporting findings.
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.

Education

A Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related biological science is mandatory. A PhD is considered an advantage for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in a high-volume food or beverage manufacturing laboratory. Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a quality control department is highly preferred. Experience with international food safety audits is essential for success in this role.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and previous experience in the industry.
