We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Urban Planner to join our team in Mbabane, Eswatini.
Job Overview
The Sustainable Urban Planner will be responsible for supporting the development of sustainable urban plans and policies in Eswatini. This will involve working with government agencies, civil society, and the private sector to identify and address the key challenges facing urban areas in Eswatini.
The Sustainable Urban Planner will also be responsible for providing technical assistance to local governments and other stakeholders to support the implementation of sustainable urban development projects.
The position will be based in Mbabane, Eswatini, and will require frequent travel to other parts of the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of sustainable urban plans and policies in Eswatini
- Work with government agencies, civil society, and the private sector to identify and address the key challenges facing urban areas in Eswatini
- Provide technical assistance to local governments and other stakeholders to support the implementation of sustainable urban development projects
- Conduct research and analysis to inform the development of sustainable urban plans and policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Eswatini
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in urban planning or a related field
- Strong knowledge of sustainable urban development principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Fluency in English and Swati
