Job Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions for IBM’s clients in Eswatini and the broader Southern Africa region. Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement AI solutions, including machine learning models, natural language processing, and computer vision applications.
  • Engage with clients to gather requirements, define project scope, and translate business objectives into technical specifications.
  • Lead proof‑of‑concept (PoC) initiatives, evaluate model performance, and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and software developers to ensure seamless integration of AI components into existing systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and partner organizations.
  • Stay abreast of AI research trends, tools, and frameworks, and champion their adoption within IBM’s delivery practice.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and best‑practice guidelines.
  • Present solution proposals and technical demos to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn, and Keras.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, and R.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with data pipelines, big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and database systems (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a strategic mindset for translating business challenges into AI solutions.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in AI, Machine Learning, or related fields are highly desirable.

Experience
