Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic testing on hydraulic pumps, motors, and cylinders using specialized test benches.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble hydraulic components to manufacturer specifications.
  • Identify root causes of hydraulic system failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with the field service team to troubleshoot on-site hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure all workshop activities comply with strict safety and environmental regulations.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematic diagrams.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of fluid power principles.
  • Ability to operate heavy workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education

A National Diploma or Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Technology, or a closely related technical field is mandatory. Candidates with specialized certifications in hydraulic systems will be given preference.

Experience

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty hydraulic components within a professional workshop environment is required. Previous experience in the mining or construction equipment sector is highly advantageous.

Salary

The annual salary for this position ranges from 185,000 SSP to 295,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s technical expertise and experience level.
